This partnership utilised Welch Group’s electric HGV Charging infrastructure to assist Voltloader in completing a crucial job that would have been challenging with a battery-electric HGV due to range limitations. This initiative highlights the significance of industry collaboration to enhance the effectiveness of electric HGVs and support the transition towards a more sustainable transportation sector.

“Charging at Welch’s marks our first collaborative charge,” explains Bertie Steggles, Head of Operations at Voltloader. ”As an all-electric haulage business, having a shared network of high-powered chargers is essential. This partnership, along with our goal of opening more shared charging sites, supports the broader rollout of electric vehicles across the UK. Public charge points often lack the capacity or suitable locations for heavy goods vehicles, making such collaborations vital for extending range, efficiency, and reliability for our customers.”

“We are pleased to support Voltloader in this initiative,” said Chris Welch, Mamaging Director at Welch Group. “Our advanced HGV charging facilities meet the demands of modern electric transport, and this successful operation highlights the potential for electric HGVs to transform logistics. We look forward to further opportunities to collaborate with innovative companies like Voltloader and advance the electrification of the supply chain.”
