Scania has achieved a significant milestone with one of its largest single European truck orders, marking the UK’s largest battery-electric truck order to be fulfilled within a calendar year.
The commitment to deliver on the premium brand promise and contribute to a sustainable transport system has led to the Consortium Purchasing group placing a substantial order for an extensive fleet of trucks, with 100 of them confirmed as battery electric 4x2 tractor units. These vehicles will be delivered to the Culina, WS and AW Jenkinson.
The comprehensive order encompasses a total of 2,500 trucks scheduled for delivery over the course of 12 months. Among them,100 battery-electric trucks, including some of Scania’s first regional-haul battery-electric 4x2 tractor units to be used on UK roads, will be part of the delivery.
To ensure optimal performance and service, each vehicle will be backed by three years of full repair and maintenance contracts, with certain trucks being financed through Scania Financial Services.
