Scania is showcasing its range of electrified and biofuel heavy trucks at the IAA Transportation show in Hanover, Germany this week. The manufacturer is introducing a new battery electric tractor and displaying electric vehicles for various applications, including timber trucks.
Scania’s electric truck lineup includes various options for battery packs, chassis, power take-off solutions, cab variants, and axle configurations. The company offers three different electric machines with nine power output levels, allowing for customisation of vehicle specifications.
Christian Levin, President and CEO of Scania, said: “To be the best partner to our customers we must offer more than vehicles. Additionally, our support includes charging infrastructure, battery performance monitoring, dynamic route planning, financing, and many other services.”
In addition to electric vehicles, Scania will display biofuel trucks at IAA. The Scania Super 460 R, which recently won the German Green Truck Award, will be on show. The company’s new 13-litre truck offers both compressed and liquified biogas options, with the latter providing ranges of up to 1,800 kilometers.
Scania will also present its R 660 V8 truck, designed for demanding conditions.
The company aims to demonstrate its range of vehicles and services as the industry moves towards sustainable transport solutions.
