Renault Trucks has begun accepting pre-orders for the Renault Trucks E-Tech T and C, which are dedicated to regional transportation and urban construction, respectively. These new 44-tonne electric trucks will be built at the manufacturer’s Bourg-en-Bresse facility.
Renault Trucks’ E-Tech T and C models are now available for pre-order, says the company. The Renault Trucks E-Tech T and C will be manufactured in Bourg-en-Bresse, France, beginning in late 2023.
Depending on requirements the vehicles can be ordered with two or three electric motors providing a combined power of up to 490 kW.
Renault Trucks E-Tech T and C can be equipped with four to six lithium-ion battery packs with power outputs ranging from 390 to 540 kWh, providing a diverse range of traction batteries. The batteries may be fully recharged by an AC power of up to 43 kW or a DC power of up to 250 kW. These trucks will be able to go up to 300 kilometres on a single charge and 500 kilometres on a one-hour intermediate fast charge (250 kW). Samsung SDI will supply the battery cells and modules, which will be manufactured in Ghent, Belgium
The Renault Trucks E-Tech T and C are available with three different types of power take-off (PTO): electric, electromechanical, or on the gearbox.
The Renault Trucks E-Tech T and C, with a total permissible weight of 44 tonnes, are available as 4x2 and 6x2 tractor units with a large cab and a wheelbase of 3,900 mm. In the rigid variant, they are available in 4x2, 6x2, and 8x4 tridem, short or long cab configurations, and eleven wheelbases ranging from 3,900 to 6,700 mm.
