Focusing on driver well-being and safety, Renault Trucks has introduced significant enhancements to its heavy-duty vehicles, including the Renault Trucks T, T High, C, and K models. The manufacturer’s primary objective is to optimise the interior fittings of the cab to provide a comfortable and ergonomic environment for drivers. Additionally, advanced driver assistance technologies have been incorporated to enhance on-road safety. These improvements are not limited to conventional models but are also extended to the all-electric Renault Trucks E-Tech T and C variants.
One of the key areas of improvement lies in driving comfort and onboard experience. Renault Trucks has optimised the cabin’s equipment to create a pleasant environment that combines ergonomics, onboard comfort, and productivity. The dashboard now features a new 12-inch adjustable main digital display, accompanied by a secondary multifunction touchscreen equipped with an intuitive Android Automobile interface. This set-up enables quick access to applications, and the main display and secondary screen functions can be operated safely using the steering wheel controls. The navigation aids and camera views are also displayed on the screen, making driving easier. An inductive phone charger can be installed in the vehicles as well.
To ensure optimal driving comfort, the steering wheel can be covered in leather, and the seats and dashboard of Renault Trucks T, T High, C, and K models can be customised with textile and/or leather. The compact dashboard comes in charcoal grey or black and red color options, while Renault Trucks E-Tech T and C electric models boast a distinctive blue and red finish. Moreover, the vehicles are equipped with a three-way adjustable steering column, enabling drivers to find their ideal driving position based on their body shape, assignment requirements, and personal preferences. Adjusting the steering column is convenient and safe, thanks to a foot-operated control that adjusts both the position and tilt of the steering wheel, allowing drivers to keep both hands on the wheel while adjusting it.
In terms of safety, the 2024 heavy-duty range Renault Trucks models incorporate advanced driver assistance technology and effective emergency braking systems to ensure the safety of drivers, their loads, and other road users. The vehicles are equipped with radars and cameras positioned around the vehicle, which expand the driver’s field of vision. These devices contribute to the safety of road users, simplify maneuvers, and reduce the risk of accidents. Optionally, up to five cameras can be added to monitor various aspects such as the vehicle’s surroundings, load, or the fifth wheel during coupling.
Furthermore, the vehicles automatically provide tire pressure level information for both the truck and trailer, promptly alerting drivers to any anomalies. This feature helps prevent excessive fuel consumption or tire blowouts. The vehicles also feature an Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA) system, which employs a camera to detect speed limits and notifies drivers if they exceed them, thus reducing the likelihood of accidents and fines.
