Renault Trucks has announced an extended-range electric truck model for long-haul transport, set to take orders from the second half of 2025.
The new Renault Trucks E-Tech T will achieve a 600km (373 miles) range by integrating an innovative electric axle technology. This design allows additional battery packs to be accommodated between vehicle side members.
“The advent of this electric truck will boost the transition to electric mobility,” said Emmanuel Duperray, Senior Vice President of Electromobility at Renault Trucks. He noted that the 600km range, combined with developing public charging infrastructure by 2026, will help achieve operational parity with diesel technology.
The manufacturer emphasised that this model complements, rather than replaces, existing electric truck solutions. Renault Trucks will continue offering various autonomy levels and configurations tailored to specific transport needs.
Duperray stressed they are not entering an “autonomy race”, highlighting that oversized batteries can penalise payload and increase operating costs. The company encourages customers to optimise battery size according to actual requirements.
To date, Renault Trucks’ electric vehicles have accumulated 30 million kilometres of use, saving approximately 29,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
Production will be handled at the Bourg-en-Bresse plant, which has been assembling the brand’s high-end electric ranges since late 2023.
