Electra Commercial Vehicles is currently conducting a demonstration trial of its 19-tonne skip vehicle with MJ Church, a company already committed to electric vehicle technology through two 27-tonne electric refuse collection vehicles (eRCVs) in its fleet.
The trial aims to evaluate how the skip truck can be integrated into MJ Church’s operational workflow, furthering the company’s sustainability objectives.
Since adopting Electra’s electric refuse vehicles, MJ Church has reported significant improvements in its environmental performance and operational efficiency. The company has found that investing in clean energy technologies not only reduces emissions but also attracts environmentally conscious clients.
Olivier Grob, Electra’s Fleet Innovation Director, stated: “We understand that each business has unique operational requirements. Our demonstration fleet allows companies to experience first-hand how electric vehicles can transform their operations.”
The trial offers MJ Church the opportunity to gain insights through:
- - Comprehensive telematics data covering energy usage and route efficiency
- - Practical assessment of battery performance configurations
- - Precise calculations of potential carbon dioxide emissions reductions
Electra offers a diverse demonstration fleet including refuse trucks, airport ground support equipment, and hydrogen-powered refrigerated vehicles. The company prides itself on its ability to develop bespoke solutions tailored to specific business needs.
“Our approach is collaborative,” a company spokesperson explained. “We work closely with potential clients to understand their exact requirements and can modify vehicle designs accordingly.”
