The Lion Electric Company introduced the Lion8 Tractor, an all-electric Class 8 commercial truck, at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo.
“The Lion8 Tractor meets the demands of modern freight transportation, combining performance, efficiency, and environmental sustainability,” said Marc Bedard, CEO-Founder of Lion at the launch of the truck. ”Our electric vehicles are central to our vision for a sustainable future.”
The truck features a 6x4 axle configuration with two integrated 2-speed eAxles for optimised power distribution and efficiency. The cab-forward design enhances driver visibility and manoeuvrability, setting a new standard for electric freight transportation, claims the company. The Lion8 Tractor includes a high-energy-density 750V battery system and is Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) compatible. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and an onboard weighing system further enhance safety and operational efficiency.
Fleets considering the Lion8 Tractor have access to Lion’s Customer Success team, which supports the transition to zero emissions and maximises operational success. This support includes charging infrastructure with LionEnergy, financing assistance through LionCapital Solutions, funding support from LionGrants, and driver, maintenance, and safety training from LionAssistance, as well as proprietary EV telematics with LionBeat.
