Ashok Leyland, a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer and flagship company of the Hinduja Group, has commenced the delivery of its electric trucks to e-mobility platform provider, Billion Electric Mobility, part of Group BillionE. The vehicles signed off include the AVTR 55T Electric, BOSS 19T Electric, and BOSS 14T Electric trucks. This marks the beginning of Ashok Leyland’s partnership with BillionE Group for electric vehicle deployment.

Ashok Leyland has received a large order of 180 electric vehicles from BillionE, comprising the BOSS Electric Truck and AVTR 55T Electric Tractor.

“Ashok Leyland is proud of its partnership with BillionE Group as we commence deliveries of our AVTR 55T Electric Tractor and BOSS ICV Electric trucks,” said Mr. Shenu Agarwal. “In both BOSS and AVTR electric platforms, we have packed the most advanced and premium features, making these products superior in performance and total cost of ownership (TCO).”

He also highlighted the significance of the BOSS Electric, India’s first electric truck in the Intermediate Commercial Vehicle (ICV) range, and the AVTR 55T Electric Tractor, which is the first 4x2 electric tractor offered by an Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer.

Mr. Kartikey Hariyani emphasised the importance of the partnership: “As we build our energy transition platform BillionE, we thank Ashok Leyland for delivering the technologically advanced electric vehicles, enabling us to drive forward a sustainable and eco-friendly transportation ecosystem.”

The delivered vehicles feature advanced performance and safety systems, including Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) and dual-gun charging for faster recharging. These electric trucks are designed to enhance efficiency and support sustainable transportation solutions.
