The development of the HVS hydrogen fuel cell truck continues with the company releasing details showing its second test vehicle, X2.0, successfully completing its first trailer pull on the Millbrook test track.
The X2.0 is one of several engineering prototypes in the testing phase, each focusing on different aspects of vehicle design and complementing computer-aided engineering models. The truck will play a vital role in providing real-world test track data, which, when combined with existing dyno test data, will inform refinements in vehicle setup, system calibration, and optimisation, says the company.
“It’s less than one year on from launching our HGV technology demonstrator, and we are already on the test track showing our incredible progress with our first trailer pull with a HVS Fuel Cell truck,” explains John McKenna, HVS Chief Technical Officer. “It is the culmination of the team’s hard work and commitment, and the support of our key development suppliers, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we have achieved in this milestone moment of our test programme. I can’t wait to see what more this vehicle can do.”
