Leading transport and logistics provider DSV has embarked on an on-road operational evaluation of the all-new 16-tonne all-electric medium-duty Volta Zero.
The Volta Zero has gone on operational trial at DSV’s Southern hub in Purfleet where it is set to undertake last-mile groupage deliveries in London and the Southeast of England. Featuring a battery capacity ranging from 150kWh to 225kWh, depending on specifications, the Volta Zero achieves a range of between 95 to 125 miles on a single charge. The vehicle is scheduled to operate between 06:00 AM and 07:00 PM, with overnight charging taking place at the main depot.
“We are delighted to be part of such a significant innovation in the industry and look forward to evaluating the benefits in the coming months. Following the success of the trial, we anticipate expanding our fleet further throughout the UK and beyond,” said John Hawksworth, Senior Director for road operations in the Domestic & Distribution division at DSV.
