Cemex Germany is leading the way in sustainable e-mobility. In early September, the construction materials giant welcomed two fully electric truck mixers from Putzmeister into its Berlin truck mixer fleet, marking a significant step towards eco-friendly construction practices.
Marcel Busch, Director Materials at Cemex Germany, explains, “We are reducing emissions throughout our entire value chain, and transport plays an important role in this. We are investing in the electrification of our vehicle fleet at our locations throughout Germany. In addition, the iONTRON truck mixer offers high safety standards and reduced noise emissions.”
Karsten Struckmann, Global Key Account Director at Putzmeister, highlights the significance of this initiative, saying, “Our iONTRON eMixer stands for more sustainable concrete transport. We want to enable our customers to become independent of conventional fuels and to act sustainably and responsibly. The positive reactions to our iONTRON product family make it clear that sustainability and environmental protection are becoming increasingly important in the construction sector.”
Equipped with innovative technology, the iONTRON eMischer boasts a 350 kWh battery capacity, providing a full day’s operation of around eight hours with five to six trips in inner-city traffic on a single battery charge. For more intensive use, the eMixer can be charged using the common CCS/Combo 2 plug. It can fully replenish its battery capacity overnight at a DC charging station in the ready-mixed concrete plant.
