Mercedes-Benz Trucks has begun customer deliveries of its first series-produced eActros 600 trucks in Germany, following the start of production in late November at its Wörth am Rhein plant. By the end of 2024, the company expects to deliver approximately 50 of these all-electric, long-haul trucks to German customers.
The eActros 600, designed for heavy-duty road freight transport, offers a range of up to 500km on a single charge and features an advanced electric drive axle with lithium iron phosphate batteries. According to Mercedes-Benz Trucks, the vehicle is tailored to meet the operational and durability standards of traditional diesel trucks, capable of covering up to 1.2 million kilometres over 10 years.
“This is a very special milestone for us and our customers in the transformation towards sustainable freight transport,” said Stina Fagerman, Head of Marketing, Sales and Services at Mercedes-Benz Trucks. “The eActros 600 is a real game-changer for the electrification of long-distance transport.”
The initial batch of eActros 600 vehicles will primarily be used for demonstration purposes. Nine companies, including August Gschwander Transport and Contargo are among the first recipients. Many customers benefitted from government subsidies under Germany’s KsNI subsidy programme, which supports alternative drive systems and charging infrastructure.
The eActros 600’s development included extensive testing across Europe and has already earned accolades, including the title of International Truck of the Year 2025.
