Tevva is the latest partner to join a carbon zero truck project co-funded by the European Commission. The 42-month, €14.7 million programme, called NEXT e-truck, was formed earlier this year and will focus on the deployment of zero emission, medium duty trucks, seeking to enhance the energy efficiency of electric vehicles above current market standards, improving the speed of charging and developing a competitive business model. Adaptability to different weather conditions is also a core aspect the partners will work on.
The project will deploy three case studies in Turkey, Barcelona and The Netherlands for evaluation and prove the effectiveness of the results.
“[We are] delighted to have received support from Innovate UK and the Knowledge Transfer Network to secure funding,” said Richard Lidstone Scott, Commercial Director at Tevva. ”Tevva’s participation in this project will enable further innovation in next generation, medium duty truck electrification through collaboration with a diverse consortium of European partners.”
Tevva is joined in the European-wide consortium by Cenex uk, ertico, VUB, ABBPanion, Tecnalia, POLIS, Cenex NL, AVL AT, AVL-D by TNO, Tevva will be working on improving overall system efficiency through battery optimisation and intelligent thermal management, enhancing virtual engineering and Model Based System Engineering capabilities through digital twin development and advancing digitalisation of fleet management and predictive maintenance.
