OEM Nikola Corporation has been awarded a contract by Sourcewell, a cooperative purchasing organisation, that will make the purchasing of its zero emission trucks a lot simpler for public sector organisations in the US.
The contract allows public agencies to purchase Nikola’s Class 8 zero emission trucks through Sourcewell’s pre-negotiated agreement. Interested agencies can access the contract details on Sourcewell’s website.
Nikola obtained the contract after completing Sourcewell’s request for proposal (RFP) process. This process is designed to ensure compliance with local procurement requirements.
Sourcewell, established in 1978, is a self-funded governmental organisation that operates a cooperative purchasing program. The organisation works with over 50,000 participating agencies to provide pre-negotiated contracts for various products and services.
The contract aims to simplify the purchasing process for government, educational, and nonprofit organisations seeking to acquire zero emission trucks and applies to both of Nikola’s advanced Class 8 semi zero-emission powertrains: battery-electric (Tre BEV) and hydrogen fuel cell (Tre FCEV).
