Nikola has announced that it sold 66 trucks at retail during the second quarter, doubling its sales compared to the previous period.
However, production faced a significant decline in the same quarter, with only 33 electric trucks manufactured, as opposed to 63 in the first quarter.
In an effort to focus on North American sales, Nikola reduced its workforce by 150 employees. Despite the challenges, the company remains optimistic about its future prospects in the zero-emission Class 8 truck sector.
Michael Lohscheller, the CEO of Nikola, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “It is not easy being a pioneer in the zero-emission Class 8 truck space, but we are witnessing a remarkable surge in momentum. We take great pride in our current achievements and the influx of orders coming in for our soon-to-be-produced hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Truck.”
