Nikola Corporation has announced that Gerrit Marx, Lynn Forester de Rothschild and Mark Russell are retiring from Nikola’s Board of Directors at this year’s annual meeting to be held on June 7, 2023.
The news follows a statement from the company’s chairman, Steve Girsky, who emphasised the size and composition of the board would evolve as the company evolves.
Marx, CEO of Iveco Group, joined Nikola’s Board of Directors in September 2019, while Forester de Rothschild, a co-founder of Inclusive Capital Partners, joined the board in February 2022. Russell joined Nikola in 2019 as President and most recently served as CEO before retiring in 2022. The retiring members expressed pride in their work at Nikola and their contributions to the company’s mission.
Nikola’s announcement highlights the company’s continued focus on delivering results in its core business units of zero-emission trucking and energy infrastructure solutions, says the company. The company has been at the forefront of the electric and hydrogen-powered vehicle industry, with a range of zero-emission vehicles designed to reduce the environmental impact of transportation.
As more companies move toward sustainable energy solutions, Nikola is poised to continue its growth and make an impact in the zero-emissions space. The company’s dedication to a greener future has made it a leader in the industry, and its Board of Directors has played a vital role in guiding its success. As the company evolves and grows, it will be interesting to see who will fill the vacancies left by Marx, Forester de Rothschild, and Russell and what the future holds for Nikola.
