NextETRUCK EU-funded initiative starts trials

The project develops ideas customised for regional medium freight haulage with at least a 10% gain in energy efficiency over the highest-end benchmark electric vehicles already on the market. It also develops idea and infrastructure prototypes for rapid charging. Finally, NextETRUCK provides new business models to improve end-user acceptability and market adoption of project solutions.

The collaboration has 19 members from eight different countries: the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Greece, Australia, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. TNO is the project’s coordinator (Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research).

Vehicle manufacturers such as Ford, Irizar, and Tevva are part of the collaboration, as are component manufacturers such as AVL, Panion, and Jema; ITS and linked IoT services; universities and research institutes; and groups like as POLIS and ERTICO.
