Einride’s impressive growth plan continues with a major collaboration with the UAE Government to bring sustainable logistics to the region.
The partnership, established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to deploy Einride’s comprehensive ecosystem, including electric and autonomous vehicles, charging infrastructure, and transformative technologies, to enable scalable digital, electric, and autonomous solutions throughout the Falcon Rise grid.
“This partnership encapsulates Einride’s commitment to facilitating efficient and sustainable shipping through full electrification,” explained Robert Falck, CEO and Founder of Einride. ”By joining forces, we can demonstrate how entire regions can intelligently and cost-effectively transition to electric solutions.”
The Falcon Rise grid, covering an extensive stretch of 550km across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah, will serve as the deployment site for Einride’s complete freight mobility offering. This comprehensive solution will include 2,000 electric trucks, 200 autonomous trucks, and eight charging stations with over 500 charging points. Einride’s freight ecosystem operates on a planned and optimised grid system, monitored through the Einride Saga platform. This grid-based approach streamlines road freight management, eliminates industry inefficiencies, ensures uninterrupted operations, and significantly reduces emissions within the region.
The collaboration with the UAE Government marks Einride’s first announced project in the region, following successful market expansions in Germany, the UK, and Benelux over the past year. The Falcon Rise project is expected to span five years, during which Einride’s partners anticipate a remarkable up to 95% decrease in CO2 emissions while maintaining cost competitiveness.
“The establishment of the UAE Falcon Rise grid represents a significant milestone in our journey toward sustainable and intelligent transportation,” said HE. Sharif Al-Olama, MOEI’s Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs. “Through this collaboration with Einride, we aim to leverage the latest technological advancements to reduce emissions and enhance the efficiency of freight operations across the region.”
“We look forward to collaborating with the UAE Government to build a more sustainable and resilient transportation system, with this partnership enabling this change to be effectively deployed at scale,” said Robert Ziegler, General Manager, EMEA of Einride. “Einride’s offering will unlock new opportunities within the region by introducing a new way of shipping that is electric, autonomous, and digital.”
