Despite being only two and a half years old, Windrose Technology has set itself an ambitious target of having 10,000 of its electric trucks on the road in 2027, with Founder and CEO Wan Han admitting its “an agressive target” but one that “isn’t that crazy”.

In an interview series with EV expert Roger Atkins on LinkedIn, Wen Han, the 34-year-old Founder and CEO of Windrose Technology, revealed the company’s ambitious goal to have 10,000 electric trucks on the road in 2027.

Han attributed the company’s potential for success to three key factors: a mature supply chain primarily based in China, a team with extensive trucking industry experience, and the agility of being a new, innovative and “nimble company”.

“Internally and externally, we’ve set a target for 10,000 trucks in 2027,” said Han. “That’s an aggressive target, but if you think about the supply chain readiness in China and our experience within the team, deploying and delivering 10,000 trucks is not that crazy.”

Among it’s “mature supply chain” are established manufacturers like Suzhou Higer, known for its collaboration with Scania and its position as China’s second-largest bus exporter, along with CALB, one of the world’s leading battery suppliers.

Han emphasised that Windrose is already working with half of the world’s top 15 largest third-party transportation providers on trials or planned trials, “all of which want to electrify their entire fleets”. He added: “The question really is, how fast can our supply meet the demand of our customers?”

Han admitted that ”volume won’t be be the most diffcult thing” instead the challenge will be about ”building trust in the product” and meeting and delivering on the ”high expectations of the market”.

Concluding, Han said he welcomed competition, noting that faster industry growth benefits all players in the EV truck business.
