Milence, the commercial vehicle charging joint venture, has opened two new charging facilities in Sweden, expanding its infrastructure along key transport corridors between Stockholm, Malmö and Gothenburg.

The new hubs, situated in Landvetter and Ödeshög, mark significant progress in developing Sweden’s electric transport infrastructure. The facilities are positioned along the Scandinavian Mediterranean TEN-T corridor, a crucial route connecting Sweden with southern Europe.

“With these two additional hubs in Sweden, the Milence network in Europe has reached 10 hubs and 70 Charging bays, making electric road transport a reality along major transport routes,” said Anja van Niersen, CEO of Milence. “The support of local municipalities, such as Ödeshög, is key to acceleration, as is close cooperation with grid operators and transport companies, and we are committed to further developing these partnerships.”

The Ödeshög facility, located 260 kilometres from Stockholm on the E4 motorway, spans 10,000 square metres and features eight charging bays with up to 400kW power capacity. Its strategic location near a developing logistics centre positions it a vital link between Stockholm and Malmö.

At Landvetter, adjacent to Gothenburg airport, the hub currently operates four charging bays with 400kW power capacity. Plans are in place to expand this facility in the first half of 2025, including implementing Milence’s design concept.

The hubs offer comprehensive facilities for drivers, with the Ödeshög location providing amenities including a lounge area, showers, and toilets. Security measures include fencing, access control, lighting, and camera surveillance. Similar facilities are planned for the Landvetter site during its second phase of development.

Regarding payment options, drivers can access the charging services through various e-Mobility Service Providers or directly via the Milence App and bank cards. The standard Milence charging rate is set at €0.399 per kWh (32p), excluding VAT.

These new facilities join Milence’s existing hub in Varberg, which opened in October 2024, bringing the total number of operational hubs in Sweden to three. A fourth hub is currently under development and scheduled to open in early 2025, establishing Sweden as a leading market in Milence’s European network.
