Neste has announced the launch of its first high-power charging service for business customers in Finland.
Set to commence operations in the latter half of 2024, the service will be available at the Neste Janakkala Linnatuuli service station, situated along the main highway 3.
Risto Karppinen, head of Sustainable Growth at Neste’s Marketing & Services division, stated,“The high-power charging service for HDVs we are opening at the Neste Janakkala Linnatuuli service station, is a pilot that we are happy to develop in collaboration with our partners DB Schenker and Volvo Trucks. Based on our customers’ needs, we will plan where to expand our high-power charging service for HDVs, which requires considerable investments.”
The HDV charging stations at Neste Janakkala Linnatuuli are tailored for large vehicles and driver convenience, featuring drive-through spaces for long combination vehicles. The service boasts Finland’s first 400 kW liquid-cooled satellite chargers for continuous high-power charging.
“More and more logistics companies have started to invest in electric heavy duty solutions. It is great news that Neste will open a high-power charging service for HDVs at the Neste Linnatuuli station. Its location between the capital region and Tampere supports our customers and helps them optimize the charging of their electric HDV as efficiently as possible, especially when driving with large total weights. The target of Volvo Trucks is that half of its global sales of new HDVs is electric in 2030,” says Janne Silvonen, Commercial and Technical Manager Electromobility, Volvo Finland.
