Kempower, a provider of EV fast-charging solutions, has entered into an agreement with DFDS, a European shipping and logistics company, to supply fast-charging solutions for DFDS’ charging stations.
DFDS has previously installed Kempower Charging solutions at one site in Belgium, one in Sweden, and three in the Netherlands. The new agreement allows DFDS to request Kempower’s fast-charging solutions for its charging hubs as needed. These solutions are intended to facilitate rapid battery recharging for electric trucks and terminal equipment. Currently, DFDS operates over 100 electric trucks across Europe.
Recently, DFDS expanded its eTruck charging site in Gothenburg, Sweden, which uses Kempower chargers. This site is now one of Sweden’s largest eTruck charging depots, featuring 38 charging points.
Sophie-Kim Chapman, VP of decarbonisation at DFDS, stated, “In DFDS, our ambition is to have at least 25% of our fleet battery electric by 2030. Collaborating with infrastructure partners such as Kempower is an important step in making this happen.”
Tomi Ristimäki, CEO of Kempower, commented on the collaboration: “This collaboration with DFDS is a significant milestone and serves as a strong example of industry leaders working together to accelerate the electrification of transportation and shape a cleaner future for generations to come.”
