Gasum has opened its seventh liquefied biogas (LBG) filling station in Norway, located in Skui, west of Oslo. The facility, designed to serve logistics companies and long-haul traffic between Oslo and Norway’s west coast, is positioned along the E16 highway.
Jogeir Munkeby, Sales Manager, Traffic Norway at Gasum, said: “We are very excited to expand our network of gas filling stations in Norway. This is an important step in continuing to develop the infrastructure around Oslo and make it possible to drive on biogas all over southern Norway by the end of 2025.”
The station has been operating in a test phase since August with logistics company Gunnar Knutsen. CEO Gunnar Knutsen commented: “We have been using biogas trucks for three years and we now have 57 biogas trucks. A biogas filling station in Skui will make it easier for the transport of construction materials such as large quantities of earth and rock in the area west of Oslo.”
The facility represents Gasum’s 50th LBG filling station in the Nordic countries. The company plans to construct additional stations between Oslo and Bergen during 2025 to support fossil-free transport routes.
The project was developed in collaboration with landowner Eiendomsspar.
