The two new hubs are positioned along critical freight routes in Germany:

  • Hermsdorfer Kreuz, Thüringen: Located on the A4 motorway between Poland and Frankfurt am Main, featuring eight charging bays for heavy-duty electric trucks.
  • Vockerode, Sachsen-Anhalt: Situated on the A9 between Berlin and Leipzig, offering four charging bays and adjacent to a secure truck park with premium amenities.

Each hub provides high-power charging up to 400 kW and is designed to be universally accessible for electric trucks across different manufacturers.

Milence CEO Anja van Niersen emphasised the company’s commitment: “The opening of our first two hubs in Germany is a testament to our commitment to keeping pace with the market’s growing demand for reliable and accessible electric charging infrastructure.”

The charging infrastructure comes with transparent pricing, with a default tariff of €0.399 per kWh (excluding VAT), and multiple payment options including the Milence App and various charging cards.

Sustainability is a core focus, with all charging stations powered by 100% green energy and construction practices prioritising CO2 reduction.

The company plans to expand, with additional hubs planned in Kassel Lohfelden, Koblenz, Himmelkron, Hüttenberg, Kirchberg an der Jagst, and Recklinghausen.

Hartmut Höppner, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport, highlighted the significance of the initiative: “The expansion of this infrastructure is a key building block for the successful ramp-up of electric trucks in logistics. We appreciate Milence’s contribution, which complements our own efforts to create a comprehensive, needs-based and reliable fast-charging network for trucks along the federal highways.

With over 30% of Europe’s road freight passing through Germany, Milence’s new charging hubs represent a critical step towards sustainable road transport.
