The company’s BMS technology includes a Battery Management Unit (BMU) and Cell Monitoring Board (CMB). The system is based on Munich Electrification’s Bologna BMS platform, which features a flexible software architecture adaptable to various battery pack configurations and vehicle interfaces.

Munich Electrification states that it has customised the battery management systems to the needs of Daimler Truck AG.

Dr. Uwe Wiedemann, Managing Director of Munich Electrification, commented on the collaboration with Daimler Trucks: “We are incredibly happy and proud of this successful cooperation and look forward to further exciting projects in the future. Our innovative BMS technology will play a pivotal role in driving sustainability and efficiency in the transportation industry.”

The Bologna Battery Management Unit is certified according to ISO26262 standards and operates up to 950 V. It can be configured with up to eight contactors and eight high-voltage measurement inputs. The CMB technology operates without oil immersion and is designed for use in fully electric trucks.
